Tuesday was a day just for me and Little Man. We don’t get to spend a ton of time together, just me and him. There is always another little person with us, so I made a point of planning a day for just us.
We started the day at Murasaki Mura. It is set up to resemble a traditional Okinawan village. The fun part is that it’s all about crafts. They had a bunch of things to choose from: making clay shisha dogs, painting shisha dogs, bengata dying, pottery, glass art, making candles and clocks, glassblowing, and even horseback riding.
Little Man decided to paint a shisha dog (he has been asking to do this again after painting one at Ryukyu Mura last year) and make a glass art/candle thing. He wanted to do more, but everything cost extra, so I promised that next time he could.
Since we were in the area, we headed to Cape Zanpa next. We checked out the giant shisha dog, then headed towards the lighthouse.
What kid doesn’t want to go to the top of a lighthouse? Heck, even I wanted to go up and see the view.

He and I both had a fun day. We went out for lunch, he got ice cream, and we browsed the PX together. It was fun to spend time together without me having to constantly chase after a 3 year old. I know he loves his sister, but I think he appreciated the alone time too.
