Today was the first full day of spring break.
School let out at noon yesterday, plus today, and all of next week equals a long break for me.
I am determined to do something new and fun every day though.
Yesterday, I saw a Facebook discussion about a park with a shisha dog as the playground.
After much google searching, I found a map for the park.
That was our first stop this morning.
Anyone over 4′ tall and with an adult size rear should not be playing in this thing. I hit my head a ton of times and the slides were so skinny!
It was definitely a hit though.
Our next stop was Kakazu Takadei Park.
This park had so much going on that we didn’t even see it all.
We are going to go back this week.
There was a lot of war history and monuments (as well as playgrounds that weren’t played on) that I want to go back and check out.
I’ll do a post later about it.
After that, we headed down to Kinser.
The commissary was having an Easter egg hunt.
I’m not too fond of these, basically because all you hear is horror stories.
I didn’t tell the kids, just in case it didn’t work out, but I figured 2:00 on a Friday afternoon at Kinser had to be tons better than Easter day on Kadena or Foster.
There were a lot of people there, but not so many it ruined it.
The USO handed out bags of goodies. The kids each got a Disney movie, Disney stickers, and a few other fun toys.
For the hunting portion, the kids each got between 10 and 15 eggs. All the eggs were full of candy.
They had a blast. Little Man said that and playing at his friend’s house afterward were the best parts of the day!
I have a bunch of things planned for next week, so hopefully they go as well as today!
