When I was younger, one of the things we always did around the holidays was to check out the Christmas lights. The county park always had a lot of lights and Christmas displays. We drove through every year. The courthouse in my town also had a manger scene set up every year. The figures moved, which was just about the neatest thing when you are little.
Being over here, it’s not really possible to drive around neighborhoods and check out the Christmas lights. Sure, some people do put them up, but even more don’t. So, last night, we took the kids to the Peaceful Illumination Festival. It promised lots of lights, so I was all over it. That and Little Man heads back to the states this weekend for Christmas with his dad. I want to squeeze in as much family time as possible before then!
Like any festival, the kids played games, rode the one and only ride, tried to pet the lone goat of the petting zoo who didn’t want to be petted, and we ate.
