Sunday morning, we were up and gone a little too early for my liking, but we were going whale watching! We hopped on a boat in Naha and headed out. We were bundled up, but it really wasn’t cold out. The sun was shining and it looked to be a gorgeous day! I was hoping we would have good luck seeing whales.
|Little Man and I were mapping our journey. That’s about where we ended up at.|
After about an hour, the boat slowed down and we were told we could get up and walk around. Most of us (the ones that weren’t sick anyways) went to the top of the boat for the best view. After a few minutes, we started to see the water from the whale’s blowholes. Then you could see their backs as they swam around.
We were all amazed. Completely and totally amazed. After a little while, our one boat turned into six.
Then, we saw this.
How freaking neat is that?!?!?!?!
They decided to put on a show next. Jumping out of the water in pairs. These aren’t the best pictures, but I was trying to watch, take pictures, and the boat was moving.
I am so glad we went! My Mom loved it too. My poor Dad got sick, but he did manage to see some of the show the whales provided for us. I made LIttle Man take dramamine just in case, but he was fine. I thought I would get sick too, but I only got a little queasy when we were inside on the boat. When we were outside in the fresh air, I felt fine. This was definitely an awesome experience!
