We made it!
We flew out of Okinawa at 10:40 Saturday morning. After a 4 hour layover in Tokyo, we landed in San Diego at 11:20 Saturday morning. Weird, right? The kids were great though! The flight to Tokyo was 2.5 hours. The airline, JAL, gives kids free toys, so that helped keep them entertained. The flight from Tokyo had the screens in the headrests. Talk about a lifesaver! They kept the kids occupied and kept my mind off how I really don’t like flying.
It was funny how many people we saw that we knew. By know, I mean a lady I talked to in passing in lodging and a guy we talked to when the husband was checking out at IPAC. It’s funny though, because in that situation you do know them and will sit and talk to them.
After we landed in San Diego, we rented a car and headed north. We stopped to get our cell phones, then continued on, hitting our destination north of San Francisco super late. We are now at the in-laws. We spent the day with a bunch of the family at my niece’s birthday party and there is tons more planned this week.
Okinawa, Tokyo, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, all in one day. Call us crazy. The jet lag is starting to get to me now. I need to make it 2-3 more hours till I can go to bed though!
