The agenda for Monday was househunting. The day started out super frustrating when the appointments we had set up were canceled because they had already been rented. We made a few more phone calls, but ended up making phone calls as we drove around neightborhoods, looking for rental signs. We called a realtor, inquiring about a house and she took us around to look at some. We found one pretty fast after that.
Our criteria was at least 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a fenced back yard. That pretty much describes every house. We wanted either a fourth bedroom or to have a living room and a family room. That wasn’t too hard either. From there, it was just location, size, layout, and price. The husband knew the area he wanted to live in. He’s lived here enough times before (we actually drove by a few places he has lived today). We got the location we wanted, 4 bedrooms, and a yard that isn’t covered in gravel. It doesn’t have much grass at the moment, but dirt is better on kid’s knees than gravel.
Who knew that rental houses here don’t come with refridgerators?!?! They do where I’m from. I was also loving that a lot of houses came with gardeners. Not having to worry about mowing is awesome!
So now, we get to go shopping. We need a washer, dryer, a fridge obviously, and mattresses for the kids beds. We’ll just sleep on their mattresses until our stuff gets here. Who knows how long that will be!
