Saturday morning, Nicole and I headed down to Del Mar for brunch with our fellow bloggers. We are the only 2 who live on the inland side of Pendleton, so we car pool when we can. We met up at Zel’s, which was right across the street from where we first got together. There ended up being 12 of us this time. Shame on us, but we didn’t do formal introductions with our blogs and all that stuff, so there are a few ladies I don’t know very well. Either way though, we had a good time. The food was good too. I had biscuits and gravy. It wasn’t picture worthy, but it was good.
After we ate, Nicole and I attempted to walk down to the beach. Attempt being the key word. We encountered a steep slope that we could have made if we were dressed differently and it hadn’t been raining, but after that was train tracks, then another slope, so we just settled for this view.
After I got home, I took a 3 hour nap. That’s how you do a Saturday! I finally got up and we drove back down towards San Diego to go to the Lakeside Rodeo. The husband used to work on ranches and such in his younger days and I used to go to rodeos a lot in my late teens, but my reasons were completely different than my husbands. The kids were excited and had a good time looking at all the food and vendor stands set up. Once the sun went down though, it was cold! The husband stayed warm with beer and the kids and I had lots of hot chocolate. They passed out on the way home and slept in on Sunday.
Sunday was spent catching up on all the things I don’t have time for during the week. Laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, and I made more laundry detergent and dryer sachets. Nothing exciting, but someone has to do it!
