This past weekend, I attended the Elevate Blog Conference in Newport Beach. I’ve been to a lot (A LOT!) of blogger meet-ups, but never to a conference. Jes and I bought our tickets way back in January. We were the dorks refreshing until they went on sale. You could say we were a wee bit excited. When everyone started buying tickets, people started following each other on Instagram, so I felt like I knew a few of the bloggers already.
We had assigned seating for lunch. Basically, find your name, decorate your cup (sorry if you’ve seen all these pics, but I pretty much only took phone pics all day and we were all on Instagram all day), and mingle. I didn’t know anyone at my table, but we all had a great talk. I sat next to Ali from Sage & Harper. If you’ve never seen/heard of her bags, go check them out. She and her bags are gorgeous! There were 7 guest speakers throughout the day. Desiree from The 36th Avenue was our first of the day. She was awesome and freaking hilarious. I don’t know how a person couldn’t love that woman. She had all of us rolling with laughter.
Lisa Leonard gave a super inspirational talk, discussing how she got the inspiration to start her business and blogging. Stephanie from Life Created and Chrissy from Let Me See You Sparkle both gave talks about picture taking and tips to improve them. Cara from Maskcara taught us some make-up tricks and showed up some how-to’s. It’s so much nicer seeing make-up tutorials in person! Ashley from Little Miss Momma and Alissa from Diary of an Addict gave smaller talks about things like affiliates and connections.
The day wouldn’t be complete without some crafting. We made Father’s Day cards thanks to Life Made Simple, fabric garlands with some awesome Fiskars scissors, and painted frames from Cut It Out Already. I kinda suck at crafts, but in situations like this where they make it all so easy, I love it!
Then there’s the swag. It was so.much.stuff. I’ll do a post later about it all. It’ll take me a while, cause seriously, it’s a lot of stuff. Don’t worry though, I’ll be sharing next week and by sharing, I mean I’ll literally be sharing some of it with you.
