Today is the last day of the MilSpouses Rock! Blog Carnival. These daily postings have been really fun, enlightning, and have really made me think! Today’s assignment is to brag on ourselves since it is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. To partcipate or read more, see the Wives of Faith.
What does make me special? I’m a wife, a mother, I have all the same fears, worries, and concerns as any other woman. I worry about my kids, money, the fact that my house is never as clean as I want it, and so on. I guess the fact that on top of all this, I have to worry about my husband. Lots of people have jobs that take them away on business, but not for a year at a time. My husband leaves and I get the additional worries of all his worries, the house, the yard, the vehicles, etc. I have no worries about being a single mom. I can patch and hang drywall, lay and grout tile, mowing the yard is great excersise, I can rip up carpet and lay laminate floors (I did it while pregnant), and I can do or attempt anything else you throw at me. Some women are not effective without their husbands. A military spouse doesn’t need her husband to get a job done. We would rather have him here to do it, but if he isn’t, no biggie, we’ll get it done.
Because of all this, we as a whole are stronger, more capabable and competent women. Now, if only I could find a job!!
