Thanks to L.C. at Faith and Deployments for making me think.
She is hosting a giveaway (her first! check it out!) and asked that write a post about what the phrase “Live, Love, Blog” means to me.
I never understood blogging. I always wondered what people had to talk about. Could a person’s life be that interesting that they could find enough to write about? I started my blog early this year. It was partly out of boredom and partly to be used as a way of venting. I had been out of work for a few months and thought it might be a fun, new thing to try. Something else to check during the day besides Facebook. At the same time, we were also getting ready for hubby to head out for his 2 year unaccompanied tour. I hate to complain to him, so I figured I could vent via blog.
I never even told hubby that I had started it. He just happened to see it one day (I usually have it open). He started reading it and telling everyone about it. I was a little embarrassed that he was telling people, but he said he was proud of me because it was my own, little thing.
It started off as just venting. It quickly turned into so much more. I am a huge freebie/coupon/saving money/being cheap girl. I started posting some basics about this stuff. As I started following more blogs, I started getting more into the MilSpouse aspect and doing all the little daily things.
I feel like I know so many people, just from reading their blogs. Heck, a girl in Okinawa left a comment one day and we started chatting on Facebook. As we talked, we found out our husbands worked together. Small world!! We are still talking and I can’t wait to meet her! We’ve already made plans to do things. I’ve seen many posts about bloggers meeting fellow bloggers who live close. Why not? It’s hard to make friends, especially in the military. Why not take advantage of it and meet some girls who you already know a little about.
All in all, this has been a positive experience. I must have something worthwhile to say since my followers keep increasing. After 436 posts in 6 months (what the heck? I thought I wouldn’t have anything worthwhile to blog about), I plan to keep this one up.
Did all that even answer the question?
