My husband is a HUGE Chargers fan. Huge. He has friends with season tickets, so he pretty much goes to every home game. Even when we lived in Missouri, he managed to go to games. He’s a die hard fan. Saturday morning, he informed me that none of his friends could go to the game on Sunday and we could use their tickets. All four of us. Heck yeah I wanted to go! I’ve never been to a professional football game before. Now that I think about it, I’ve never been to a college game either.
Let me tell you how serious these guys are about football. I know people do stuff like this, but not me. We left the house at 6:45 in the morning to drive to San Diego, just to wait in line to get in to the parking lot. Once we finally got in, it was kinda like crazy people on Black Friday. People were jumping curbs, cutting each other off, and just flying through the parking lot to get their spot. Then we had to set up. These guys have a TV and Directv dish/reciever just for tailgaiting. They all stand around and watch other football games until they can go in and watch the football game. I’m not a big football person, so whatever, but it’s pretty funny. We had a good time though. They tailgate with the same big group of people every week, people that I’m pretty sure they don’t know outside of that parking lot, but everyone was super nice and friendly. The game was great too. Chargers beat the Jets 31 to nothing. Our seats were also in the shade, for the entire game. I don’t think it could have gotten any better.
