I’m so frustrated. If it isn’t one thing with the military it’s another. I’ve never PCSed before. I moved here with my first husband in 2002. It was a DITY move on my end, so all I had to do was pack it all up. We got divorced here and I stayed for various reasons. I met my husband not long after he was stationed here, so my first move.
Turns out, hubby’s orders have NO dependents listed on them. None! I guess the Marine Corps thinks he is still single. I found that out last week and we are still trying to get that changed. I’ve got the health screening part done. That was easy. We still need our shots for Okinawa, but all the paperwork and appointments are done. I spent the morning at the detachment S-1. Those guys are very helpful. They won’t do any of the paperwork on my son though, since his sponsor is his dad, not my husband. Frustrating, but I already called his dad to get him started on it. Thankfully, he is working with me on this. Little missy and I then went to travel to get our passports done. They did everything, but didn’t know how far they could go since I don’t have a copy of his revised orders that say accompanied and with dependents listed. She was nice about it though, gave me her card, and said I could just email them once I got them. The dog has an appointment tomorrow. It may be too hot for him to fly though. I’m going to get everything done just in case. I went to the hospital then. When I had my physical appt yesterday, she suggested I make sure I’m up to date on my shots. I went to the immunization clinic and found out I don’t exist. I just left. I was so pissed off and frustrated by that point, I just went home.
S-1 wouldn’t do the paperwork for my son though. They said we will have to pay out of pocket for his plane ticket since hubby is not his dad or his sponsor. I asked my ex-MIL about it cause her and my ex-s dad are divorced. She said the kids were always on orders and everything was paid for even though their dad was listed as their sponsor. Can you say frustrating?!?!?! Hubby is going to have to figure that one out.
