I got up super early to be dropped off at the Newcomer’s Briefing. Most of it was interesting, they went over all the basic base rules, plus island etiquette, culture, and interesting places to see. Hubby couldn’t come get me for lunch, so I walked to the enlisted club. Another girl was headed that way too, so we ended up having lunch together. She has been here for a few months already, but was taking the brief to get her driver’s license. You have to sit through the brief to be able to get your license. After lunch, we took the driver’s test and picked up our license. It was a little too easy.
Hubby picked me up and made me drive home. I wasn’t planning on driving in town yet, but I guess the best way to learn is to just throw yourself in it! We then took the kids to a park close by. The park had a play area for the kids, basketball courts, a nice golf course and driving range, and a pool. Hubby hit some golf balls while the kids played.
Hubby couldn’t pick me up for lunch this morning because maintenance was at the house. To dry any load of clothes, it took 3 to 4 cycles to completely dry anything. They ended up tearing the ceiling out in our living room to get to a pipe. It was apparently completely full of lint. That also explains why everything I got out of the dryer was covered in lint. It was kinda gross.
All is good! I have my license and a ton of plans for tomorrow. Hubby gets to stay here since maintenance is coming back, so I can do what I want!!!
